Rev. George E. Collins, S.J.

President / Superior, Campion Jesuit Community

Fr. George E. Collins, S.J. was born and raised in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (Mission Church) in Roxbury, Massachusetts, the seventh of nine children of George E. Collins, Sr., and Helen T. (Sullivan) Collins.   Fr, Collins, entered the Society of Jesus in 2000 after a career in business.  He worked for 15 years in the electrical utility industry working in various capacities.  He later sold part of a hospital information system throughout the United States and Canada for a Massachusetts healthcare technology company.

Fr Collins entered the Society of Jesus in 2000 having earned B.A. and M.A. degrees from Boston College.  After his novitiate in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts (2000-2002), Fr Collins went on to earn his M.A. in philosophy from Loyola University in Chicago, (2002-2004) before finishing his studies in preparation for priesthood, in Berkeley, CA where he earned his M.T.S., ThM. and S.T.L. in Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University.  He was ordained on June 12, 2010.

Before being missioned to Campion Center as the superior of the Jesuit Community, and President of Campion Center, Inc. in July of 2020, Fr Collins previously had served as the Co-Ordinator Mission & Identity at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT (2011-2012), Director of Campus Ministry at Fairfield University (2012-2015), President of Cheverus High School in Portland, ME (2015-2017), a spiritual director and retreat director, and vice-superior at Loyola Jesuit Center in Morristown, NJ (2017-2020).
