Directors: John Predmore, SJ
This series of seven Wednesdays, “The Art of Communicating Compassion”, will take place in the first 4 months of 2021: January 20, February 3 & 17, March 3 & 17, April 7 & 21. We will learn the value of centering ourselves using deep breathing techniques. Once we find a balance and notice what we are feeling, we will learn techniques to listen meaningfully to the one who is suffering. As we develop compassion, we learn how to use our words in a way to bring about greater understanding and compassion. The presentations will last 50 minutes, and then a creativity exercise will be assigned for the following session. A time for questions and comments will follow. No artistic ability is needed. We will do some simple exercises that will help you examine the world reflectively. Register for all seven at once, come when you can, drop out when you need to. We hope to offer all 2021 programs in person. If, for health and safety reasons we need to move to online delivery, we will notify you and reduce the price 50%. Deposits and payments are no longer required at the time of registration. Simply register, C&R will confirm your registration, and contact you closer to the date of your retreat for your online payment.
